Sites shortlisted for new eCommerce award

9 August 2011

Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) has announced the shortlist for its annual awards, including the 20 sites shortlisted for its new eCommerce Website of the Year Award.

The winner of the eCommerce award will receive a digital marketing campaign to the value of €20,000, plus help with digital strategy and marketing from the eCommerce award sponsor, Google.

This is the first time that the REI Awards will recognise best practice and excellence in Irish eCommerce, and the retail industry body has also launched a new quality mark for retailers’ websites.

REI has chosen AMAS to design the assessment process and conduct the evaluations of eCommerce sites. REI was keen to ensure that the eCommerce category matched the stringent assessment process which has been a hallmark of the retail awards since their inception.

These are the 20 shortlisted sites for the eCommerce Website of the Year Award:

The next stage

All websites that have qualified for the next stage of the evaluation process are eligible to use and market the new Retail Excellence Ireland eCommerce quality mark. These shortlisted sites will go on to stage two of the process, a further assessment by an experienced online consultant.

Then in stage three a judging panel will select the finalists, based on the stage two evaluations and application details from the shortlisted companies.

The businesses will then be invited to present to the judges in late September. The shortlisted websites will then be in contention for three category awards plus the overall eCommerce award. The winners will be announced at the annual ceremony in Galway in November.
