More home PCs and more broadband subscribers inevitably results in more regular online surfing.
The number of people who access the Web each day has grown to 638,000 – a year-on-year increase of 22%.
Another take on the same data shows that 1.2 million Irish people had access to the Web over the previous three months.
Ireland is almost equally divided between households with and without Web connections. A total of 49% of households were online in 2006, up from 45% the previous year.
