
AMAS Director and Senior Consultant Fiachra Ó Marcaigh is an experienced communications and IT professional. He has worked at senior level in national and online media for over 15 years.
He joined AMAS in 2003 and became a Director in 2006.

He is a former Assistant Editor with The Irish Times, where his responsibilities included specifying, buying and managing all technology used by journalists. He led the team that delivered technology and training and implemented new technical initiatives, including the contributing to the pioneering creation of Ireland.com.
Fiachra Ó Marcaigh devised and delivered the very successful Irish Times Training course "Introduction to the Internet" to a wide range of business, public service and personal clients.
From 2000 until 2002, he was Operations Editor of Digiserve, the new media publisher. He managed the interface between technical and editorial teams to create four major portals. He also acted as General Manager of EDO Software Services, the Digiserve subsidiary.
Fiachra Ó Marcaigh is a member of the Irish Internet Association’s User Experience Working Group and serves on the committee of the Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute. He is a frequent guest speaker at conferences and is a regular media commentator on IT, usability, accessibility and online communications.
